About us
Hello. We are Tina and Paul Landers and we run miceandme.com. You can find out
more about miceandme.com here.
We are a "fifty something" couple who met when we both worked for a
well known software company. Neither of us are technically trained or inclined but we readily admit to being technology fans. Having
spent so many years working alongside technical experts, we've both been fortunate enough to get an "inside" understanding of computers
and computer technology.
Over the years we seem to have (understandably)
developed the role of “technology handypeople” among our family and friends, and their families and friends. Whenever we visit our
relatives (our families live in another state), a significant part of our time is usually dedicated to helping with technology - either with
advice or helping to fix something that doesn’t work properly. A significant portion of our email time at home is dedicated to answering
how-to questions about the internet, software, hardware, home networks, printers, scanners, digital cameras, you name it!
Thankfully, we enjoy doing it.
We were recently discussing with Tina's mum
Dorothy (who, over the last 4 years or so, has really gotten into this “computing stuff”) that, while we enjoyed helping, it was all becoming
too time consuming. “Why don’t you make a web site” were Dorothy's exact words. “Huh?” was our exact response. If we had known, at that
time, how much time, effort and money it was going cost, our combined answer would probably have been more like “Yeah, you’re right mum.
Wow look at the time, got to go now, bye, love you!”
Anyway, after much discussion the idea began appealing to us more and more. We
agreed that it would be an interesting challenge and probably a fun hobby.
Right now you’re looking at the outcome of Dorothy's idea and the ensuing
conversations.
So, to Dorothy, Dad, Nan, Pa, all our family and friends, here it is. A web site
just for you.
Actually, this web site is for ALL mums and dads, grandmas and grandpas, aunties
and uncles, your families, friends and everyone else who might benefit from a plain and simple guide to getting the most out of your
computing experience. Please enjoy.
